Fast Facts Overview On The Ride Crew and Volunteers Teams FAQs

Crew, Volunteers, and Cheerleaders
We welcome volunteers in many capacities on The Pennsylvania Environment Ride: crew, volunteers, and cheerleaders.

The crew are volunteers who support the Ride from beginning to end, starting with the crew training on Thursday afternoon and continuing through the closing celebration on Sunday. Crew stay and eat with the riders the entire weekend. Each crew member is assigned a specific role on the event: They may mark the route, carry the gear, provide sweep support, hand out beverages and snacks at the oases, serve lunch, provide medical and motorcycle safety support, and so on. Your $75 registration fee helps to defray food and lodging expenses. Although crew has no fundraising requirement, you are welcome to set up a fundraising page as the riders do, to send even more money to the Pennsylvania Environmental Council!

We will also welcome day volunteers in Philadelphia on Sunday. We will have limited, specific needs for day volunteers; if you are interested, please call us at 868.858.6877 to learn more.

We encourage friends and family to come out and cheer for the riders. About two weeks before the Ride, we will post a list of designated cheering stations here on this website. Please come out and cheer! Due to cost and space considerations, we regret that we cannot offer meals or lodging for the friends, family or cheerleaders of riders, but we will be happy to provide information to keep you close to your loved ones.
