Fast Facts Overview On The Ride Crew and Volunteers Teams FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions
HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO RAISE?
Each three-day rider commits to raising at least $2,000 to support the Pennsylvania Environmental Council. This may sound daunting, but we’ll support you every step of the way. See the “Getting Ready” section of the website to learn more. The fundraising minimum for one-day riders is $350.

WHAT IS THE TERRAIN LIKE?
Beautiful, historic, and challenging! Picture rolling hills, Amish country, and covered bridges. The Ride ends with a mix of rural back roads and suburbs with a lengthy stretch on the PEC-supported Schuykill River Trail, as Philadelphia comes into view. (Route is subject to change.)

MAY I PICK MY OWN ROOMMATE?
Absolutely! If you already know who your roommate is, please indicate that on your registration form. Otherwise we’ll pair you up with a person of the same gender.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?
All of your meals from lunch on Friday through lunch on Sunday will be provided to you, including hot breakfasts and dinners. (On the one-day option, we include a continental breakfast and lunch.) Each rest stop ("oasis") is stocked with food, water and Gatorade for you. Your hotel on Friday and Saturday night are also included. You need to provide a bike and helmet (required), plus spare tubes and water bottles.

HOW MUCH OF THE MONEY WILL GO TO THE PENNSYLVANIA ENVIRONMENTAL COUNCIL?
We work very hard to keep production expenses as low as possible by soliciting sponsorships, donations, and discounts for supplies. Ultimately, the amount of money, and the percent return, depends upon how many people ride and how much each rider raises.

IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE?
Yes, all participants must be at least 18 years old by the start of the Ride. 16- and 17-year-olds may participate with a parent or guardian under certain conditions. Please call us at 866.858.6877 for details.
